Job Announcement
Heifer Armenia is a South Caucasus Regional representative office of Heifer
International, a non-governmental charity organization based in the United States.
Heifer International helps resource-poor families become
self-reliant by providing them with food-and income-producing animals and training.
Since 1944, Heifer International has helped more than 4 million families in 116
countries. Each family "passes on the gift" by giving one or more of its animal's
offspring to another family in need. Heifer International provides more than 20
different animals, from dairy goats and chickens to llamas and water buffalo.

Heifer Armenia is announcing a job opening to fill the vacant position of Chief
Accountant. All interested candidates are requested to submit the cover letter, CV

Job Description
Job Title: Chief Accountant
Reports to: Regional Director

Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accounting system of Heifer International Caucasus Regional Office
in Armenia in accordance with the Accounting Standards of the Republic of Armenia.
2. Maintain accounting of cash, inventory and fixed assets, as well as in the
timely manner reflect all the transactions related to their flows in the accounting
system.
3. Control, maintain accounting of and report on all the project costs.
4. Maintain accounting of all the project incomes and expenses in accordance
with the established procedures.
5. Prepare and submit all the necessary reports required by the Social
Insurance Fund and Ministry of State Income.
6. Maintain proper accounting and make timely transfers of all the payments to
the state budget, social payments and payments to other bodies (in the order
established by the RA Legislation).
7. Maintain proper accounting and make timely transfers of the amounts related
to the financing of the Heifer projects implemented by the Heifer Project Holders.
8. Maintain accounting and check the reports on the projects implemented by or
with the support of or financed by the Heifer Project International Regional Office
in Armenia.
9. Delegate tasks in the timely manner related to accounting, monitoring,
reporting and financial analysis of the projects implemented by or with the support
of or financed by the Heifer Project International Regional Office in Armenia.
10. Prepare reports based on original documents and accounting records and submit
them to the relevant bodies in the terms established by the RA Legislation.
11. Maintain accounting documentation, organize and maintain proper filing system.
12. Prepare and submit financial reports in the order required by the Head Quarter.
13. Collect, summarize and submit to Director all financial reports of Heifer
Project Holders in Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan.
14. Provide financial and organizational assistance to the Heifer Project Holders in
Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan.
15. Assist Director in maintaining the internal controls within the organization and
at the level of Heifer Project Holders in Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan.
16. Assist Director to ensure legal framework of all activities of the Regional Office.
17. Assist Director in project development, research, monitoring, and reporting.
18. Assist Director in coordination of staff and administrative issues.
19. Assist Director in building capacity of Heifer partners and Project Holders in
program development, research, monitoring, and reporting.

Qualifications:
a.. Advanced degree in Accounting or Master's in Business Administration with a
focus on accounting or the equivalent from the recognized institution.
b.. Professional experience in an accounting position with managerial responsibilities.
c.. Strong English, Russian and Armenian language skills - oral and written.
d.. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
e.. Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to details.
f.. Strong ability to analyze and provide in-depth report with reliable and valid
information.
g.. Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database and electronic mail
software.
h.. Ability to produce accurate documents in a well-designed and attractive format.
i.. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively, tactfully
and diplomatically with a culturally diverse group of people.
j.. Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork and cooperation.
k.. Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs, and to gender equity.
