C at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne British Council Armenia invites scientists to apply now for the Scottish Power-NERC Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Award (DHPA). This fully-funded scholarship will enable an international social sciences student to study for a PhD on urban sustainability and renewable energy, beginning in 2004-2005 in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at the University of Newcastle. Candidates are expected to hold a first-class degree or equivalent in the social sciences, must be familiar with sociological debates about the social construction of technological and environmental innovation, and must be able to start their studies within the 2004-2005 academic year. Applications from candidates whose area of research and academic interest is not renewable energy cannot be accepted. Deadline for applications is 30 July.
