The Journal of Eurasian Research Announces a CALL FOR PAPERS Topic: Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities Deadline: January 15, 2004 Authors are invited to submit articles on the topic of "Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities" for publication in JER. Themes for consideration may include, but are not limited to, the following: *Global and Regional *Globalization in Education *Global Networks *Politics in the Globalization Era Additionally, articles on the following general topics are being accepted on a rolling basis: * Questions of state, government, history, security and politics * Issues of globalization and/or regional governance * Studies on modern technologies, Internet culture and society, and mass communications * Environmental and nature protection issues * Psychological, sociological, philosophical and gender issues * All other topics directly or indirectly relating to Eurasia or those of interest to persons or peoples of Eurasia Finally, JER seeks experts in the fields related to any of these topics to review article submissions. The Journal of Eurasian Research (JER) Vol. 3 No. 1 is scheduled for publication in winter 2004. JER is an international, refereed journal dedicated to the promotion of advanced research and intellectual life in the humanities and social sciences. Sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, and produced by the American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS, the Journal is published both in print and on the Internet at www.actr.org/JER. It aims especially to support the scholarship of those who have participated in the academic exchange programs run by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for the U.S. Department of State. In addition to article submissions, JER will also accept for publication letters to the editor, book or conference reviews, and opinion pieces. Submissions must not exceed the length of twelve (12) double-spaced A4 pages. Articles under consideration will be refereed in accordance with standard review procedures.
