Hi. I'm a sevnteen year old student from Singapore and I've got a little housing problem.
I found out that I can't book a hotel room or any other type of residence at my age even with a valid passport! Does anyone know what underage int'l students do when they try to search for housing? Must they have a guardian with them at all times? Or can they just book a room under their guardian's name? It seems that the most advisable way for me would be to book long-term accomodations before I leave my home country. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

You may want to contact the International Student office (ISO) of your school stating your case. Many ISOs have lists of foreign students who are looking for roommates. ISOs also have lists of host families. The earlier you contact the easier it gets. Yes, it is kind of hard to book rooms when you are under eighteen. So you should look for long-term acoomodation. |
