I have been accepted into University X and University Y. They both sent me valid I-20s. I applied for
an F1 visa based on the I-20 from X - and got it - and came to the US. Then - I found out that X was acting strange on the number of credits they would transfer. So - now - I want to go to Y. I have their valid I-20. However - my F1-visa still says Univ X - even though I haven't started classes or registered yet. Is it possible to transfer to Y now instead of X? Will it create any F-1 visa complications? Thanks Sincerely a bumra |

You can try calling or visiting the International student advisor of the other college (Y) about transfer.
I transferred from my first school to another school after 2 months. |

shouldnt be no problem at all..if you want to transfer from X to Y without attending X, there should be a last date for it...check with the IO.
Or you can transfer after a sem..as I did. It is perfectly legal hope this helps |

I would talk to your foreign student adivsor at your current school. Some schools requre you to be a student for at least one semester before they will allow you to transfer. You will have to provide the new shcool with info that you were in status at your former school and if your former school deems you out of status due to the fact that you never enrolled, then you will have to do a reinstatement. |
