I read in one of your messages,
"At least in NJ international students can get a resident tuition in public schools if they have a resident sponsor. The sponsor must be an american citizen for more then 10 years. He has to issue an affidavit of support (notarized) stating that he's going to pay all student's expenses."

I have an aunt living in CA who is willing to sponsor me to study high school there. She's an American citizen who's been living in CA for more than 30 years. I'm planning to study high school in USA because the subjects are taught in English (in my country all subjects are taught in a language not spoken anywhere except in my country) and this will make things easier for me when I go to college/university.
If I can find no way to make myself eligible for resident tuition it's going to cost a bomb.

Serge, if what you have said (above) is true then how do I get started (with the application and stuff like that), and could you please give me more information on that?

Serge
I'm in NYC and the information about the resident tuition was from New Jersey. I wasn't able to get any additional info on the subject. The girl that told me about it was very confident that it's a "common knoledge" among the international students and was very surprised that none of us from NY knew about it.

I was trying to get some info on how to get a resident tuition for international students for the last 2 years but I couldn't find anything but fragmentory information. Try discussing this with your college - especially with their Financial Aid office (not with the International Students office, I mean discuss it with them last) and the Admissions office.

I am curently a "continuing education" student and I was looking into getting an American degree if I could get a resident tuition. In case I find something new I'll let you know on this board.
