is it possible to enter the country without a valid I-20 while having a valid F-1 visa??? i know you'll still get into the country but what about the immigration official at the airport?? |

it is certainly not recommended but i had a friend who lost his i-20 midway and the immigration officer was corteous and let him thro but he had to report to some local field offfice with his i-20 within 30 days...so its possible yes but only if something unforseen has happened |

A friend of mine managed to do it too, but he had to go through several hours of INS investigation. They've called his roommate to question her about his status and illegal work and stuff like that. He said he was crying over there and INS felt sorry for him eventually.
That was 2 years ago, they may not be that nice now. |
