I need some advice on what to do I entered this country on on B1/B2 visa and then applied to change status to f-1. I submitted then necessary doucments and was to await response form immigration. It will be a year in the summer and since then I have not heard anything. I spoke to my school advisor and she wrote to them. So for now I don't know wheter or not my status has been cahged |

See? That's the probkem with the INS. They're so backlogged that a simple request like yours takes forever to process. No wonder it took them like 14 years to get a certain greencard processed. |

Just stay the way you are. There was this old Russian joke about people standing up to their mouths in the pool of s--t: "Don't make waves". Until they respond you are OK. Unfortunately they are changing the rules as we speak but i believe it won't be retroactive. |

Stay put... You might get a blue form requesting you to submit more evidences such as Bank Statement, Grade Report, and Tuition Payment Receipt...etc. Make sure you have what they ask for; once you send them in, you shall receive an approval soon. |
