Hi, i'm studing in the community college and i just want to know if i can work legaly on campus in the bookstore of another university eventhough my I-20 is from the Community College.
My question is because i got an offer to work there and i realy need the money, actually i'm applying for working permition based in severe economic hardship. I will apreciate your answer. Thank you very much, your web site is really helpfull for us. |

I believe the answer is no.
Still, if the university that has a bookstore is part of the same school as your community college then you may be able to work for it and hope that if it ever comes up in an INS interview you will be able to convince them it is "on campus". I think legally "on campus" job doesn't even require your ISA approval, but I may be wrong. It would be safer to wait for the economic hardship approval, though. |
