I understand that some of us as foreign students want to use marriage to get green card. But does anyone know that since Jan. this year they changed the law and says even if you married an American, you still have to go back to your own country, wait for your spouse file for you to apply for green card. Before people didn't have to leave the country, they can just apply here after the marriage. Is this infomation correct? If so, how long for that waiting period? Is it easier or faster to apply for fiance visa and come? |
