OPT URGENT

Hi,
I did my MS in NJIT. And as everybody does I applied for my opt . I was told to call the INS number (on their recorded information )and find out if it is approved and I can start the job .I came to know my OPT is approved om 03/12. And I immidiately started work(somehow My company did not ask for the physical card due to their requirement). And when I got the physical card the dates where 04/27 on that. And company lawyer is saying that if I go to Muliptle entry Visa or Apply for GC I will be deported as the start date of my job is 03/28 and my card approved on 04/27.I am really worried If I am out of status or how should I coorect this error. There is no physcial evidence that I heard That card is approved on 03/12.
Please Advice!!!

Hey Tik, chill out man.

Each year, thousands of students do exactly the same as you did and people still get Green Cards. I don't know when you were going to apply for your permanant residency but it won't be for a while. IF the officer who's reviewing youir permanant residency application (Green Card) even bothers to check your start date for OPT, they might question it and you may have trouble. A phone call from a lawyer will probably clear it up in a minute. But you're far from that point now so don't worry about it. It's pretty far down on the F-1 visa violations list.
