  Application for Economic Hardship
pallavi
Hi Friends!

Need your advice and suggestion for application for an Economic Hardship.I'll appreciate if you share some of your valuable experiences with me!

1-What is the processing time for the work permit at the INS?

2-Is the eligilbility condition,9 months of stay in the US(F1 status) or 9 months in a particular college?
What was applicable to u?

3-What kind of evidences do u think work the best as a proof of economic hardship? Please suggest.

4-does school transfer hamper the chances very severely?

5-If u were reinstated on severe medical grounds, what can the chances be?

6-What is the minimum GPA that is considered OK for this application?

Thank u.
Best of Luck.

My only comments are on #2 and #4.

2. It's 9 months in the F-1 status, not the school. However:

4. INS saw your financial documents when you transferred schools. So something had to happen since then. I guess severe medical problems would work in this situation as long as you can present the medical bills.

Some intl. advisors are reluctant to process this kind of application if you've just transferred to their college. If you have some solid evidence you can try to use INS database to try to convinse your advisor. It sais "one full academic year in status" I think.
