My case is very similar to yours. I studied illegaly
during the 4 yrs of high school. Graduated almost 2 yrs ago. After that i applied for a CHANGE OF STATUS, B1 to F1 visa. I enrolled in a Community College in NY, and well i'm still waiting for a reply, it's been more than a year!! and nothing..... meanwhile i think it's a total waste.... i've been payin DOUBLE TUITION, and i still don't have the student visa. When i recently found out that there are other illegals studying without papers, and payin regular tuition like other residents. SO, i've been thinking of just dropping the student visa option . I still don't know.... SHOULD I??? i won't be able to pay double tuition at some point...besides what benefits do i get as an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT?? -i got a job already, a licence, bank account, credits, u name it i got it EXCEPT that much amount of money. and i do want to transfer and then i will have to do the I-20 again and go through the entire deal and waiting period and the uncertainty of being accepted by the INS or not. I NEED SOME ADVICE ON THIS ONE. before i go broke. thanks a lot. |
