how long does it take to get an alien registeration number after getting married to a US citizen. if you are in school, can one qualify for instate tuition after a year of getting married? |

a number will be immediately available to you, but you'll have to wait several months to actually get the permanent resident card.
As for in-state tuition, u should be eligeble, but I'm not that sure. (I wonder the same, check my "in-state tuit. for intl' students") |

you will have to wait a year or two. adjustment of status takes time. Yes, when you do become a resident, you qualify for in-state tuition |
