You will not be given a new visa, but your student
status will be extended. You will have to "transfer schools" according to the INS rules - it's a standard procedure. Consult an intl. student advisoir at a college you transfer to. Not having a visa only matters in case you want to travel abroad - in that case you'll have to apply for a new one. You are allowed to stay in the USA as long as you are "in status" - attend a school and have a valid I-20 form from it. After graduation you'll be able to get one year of OPT working permit. |
