I am in US on F1 now but I have lost my student status for a year. Can I apply to a new university and get in status or have to re-enter US. My F1 is still valid. Thanks. |

The best strategy would be reentering US with a new I-20 from a new school. I think this way you have more chances than applying for reinstatement. Ask the student advisor for an "initial attendance" I-20, do not apply for a "transfer". Make sure you have all the right papers like proof of finances. This is my opinion of course. I can't guarantee you they will let you back in. |
